I Love Hongkong Films!

Recently came across this, which I think is an wonderful site for Cantonese film fans. The writing is top-notch and site design professional, qualities that stand out among other similar and often rather pathetic offerings.

I feel like a greedy kid in a candy store. If only I can watch every single recommended film, haiz...

Why I Love the EPL

Arsenal 1, Manchester City 0. The match still very much in the balance. Arsenal awarded a second penalty. Up steps Robert Pires, scorer of the first penalty. The Highbury faithful awaits with bated breath...

In one not so swift movement of his graceful right foot, Pires caresses the ball with his studs. In comes the onrushing Henry, stealthily running way past the ball with a confused glare at his fellow frenchman. The two stand still and exchange lovely glances before watching a Man City defender clear the ball into safety. The referee blows the whistle (the French duo pray for a reprieve) and awards Man City a freekick, which in my humble opinion, must have been given for the combined stupidity of P and H.

Now watch me make the ball disappear into goal...

Still, their innovative intention of taking a penalty ought to be applauded, without which, I would never have witnessed the dumbest looking penalty-taking ever.

Lifebook to ibook

The unthinkable has happened. I have crossed over to the white side.

From a total Mac cynic a few months ago to actually spending money to buy a Mac OS running Apple ibook G4. Well, not really spending any additional moola, since I sold my Fujitsu Lifebook to my bro. But still, I amaze myself at how easily my resolve against the Mac can be weathered down in such a short time.

I used to think that the Mac cannot run a single Windows application and wondered why people would actually not want to use a Windows based system. This thought was totally banished once I laid my hands on the ibook. Apart from playing games (which I no longer do... on the computer at least), the Mac OS works just as well as Windows, if not better. The most exciting thing is that there is going to be so much to explore in the Mac environment, especially after at least 12 years of sticking to Windows. And of course, the absolutely gorgeous design of the ibook and the OS interface makes the transition so much smoother.

KH, the biggest Mac cynic I know, called me mad for getting a Mac. He could be right. What the heck took me so long to get one?
